Ben Hudgins, AIA, Principal

Ben Hudgins is a principal of Brock Hudgins Architects, where he specializes in urban design and mixed-used developments. Over the past decade, Ben has served a vast array of clients – both public and private – ranging from small, local developers to large, national companies and institutions. With a strong background in planning and an extensive knowledge of various building typologies, Ben excels in creatively solving complex design problems and, in particular, addressing complex urban-infill sites.

Ben's expertise in planning is a huge asset to Brock Hudgins Architects. His extensive knowledge of the City of Atlanta zoning regulations and processes has resulted in dozens of successful projects in many of the intown Atlanta neighborhoods. Over the years Ben has worked closely with neighborhood stakeholders through various planning and entitlement activities, including Inman Park,Virginia Highland, Poncey Highland, Old 4th Ward, Midtown, Buckhead, Morningside - Lenox Park, Piedmont Heights, West Midtown, and Homepark. 


Prior to establishing Brock Hudgins, Ben served as a designer and project manager at Lord Aeck Sargent, working alongside Eric Brock for nearly a decade. At Lord Aeck Sargent, Ben was an integral part of all phases of the design process, from programming to construction administration. In his current role, Ben focuses primarily on creating and delivering thoughtful, compelling design for multi-family clients. His design talent is recognized regularly, and his work has been featured in numerous local and national exhibitions.


An area native and resident of the City of Atlanta for nearly 20 years, Ben has developed a true appreciation for urban living. He lives on the Westside in Underwood Hills neighborhood with his wife and three children. Ben enjoys staying active in his community by serving as planning and land-use committee chair and NPU-D alternate representative for his neighborhood association. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for First Presbyterian Preschool.


Ben earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a registered architect in the State of Georgia. Ben was a member of ULI Center for Leadership Class of 2016.
